Peter Shaw
Chairman of the Board
As Chairman of the Board of Directors, Peter Shaw brings a wealth of experience building successful companies, especially in the technology sector. He has been the founder or first professional CEO of six companies and has led 5 of them to successful exits. He has served, at the direction of venture capital investors/boards, as interim and turnaround CEO for four other companies and has sat on over 20 private and public boards as an outside director. He has also served as a partner for a venture capital fund.
Specifically, Mr. Shaw has served as CEO at Akonix which was acquired by Quest; as President and CEO at Sitematic which was acquired by NetObjects; as President and CEO at AGE Logic In. which was acquired by NetManage; as President at Megatek Graphic Systems which was acquired by United Telecom/Sprint; as a Venture Partner at Windward Ventures; and as Past President (2009) of San Diego Venture Group.
Currently Peter is a Principal in Shaw Management Advisors, International (SMAI) a San Diego based international advisory firm that provides services for Senior Management, Boards, Venture Capitalists and Entrepreneurs. SMAI specialize in advising its clients in strategic and operational aspects of their business. A number of assignments have included M&A, as well as restart and turn-around activities.
Mr. Shaw holds a BS in electrical engineering from City College of New York and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
Ted Stearns

When Ted Stearns founded eDisabilityQuotes, spearheading his own company represented the natural next step in a successful financial career. He has been a practitioner and advocate of entrepreneurship since he first entered the industry, initially working for Merrill Lynch and AG Edwards.
In fewer than two decades, Stearns has built an impressive list of credentials that gives him an in-depth understanding of multiple aspects of financial services. Prior to his current role as Chief Executive Officer of eDisabilityQuotes, Stearns was a Senior Estate Planner for Sterling Wealth Strategies, an Advisory Board member at Center for Wealth Legacy, COO of the Wealth and Legacy Group, Chairman of the Board for iMerchantAdvance and Partner at Aegean Capital Partners. He co-founded the San Diego CEO Roundtable and also hosted a live interactive financial radio show on a San Diego’s AM1000 KCEO called “Money in the Morning.”
In his own words, Stearns’ vision for eDisabilityQuotes is to “create the world’s largest online marketplace for disability insurance through an Internet-based resource not offered by established companies who also specialize this insurance. The goal is simple: take what is normally a complex, paper-intensive process and make it quick and easy for our clients. John O’Neill
Board of Directors
John O’Neill serves as eDisabilityQuotes Director and is a Partner and head of the Business & Technology Team with the law firm of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP, and has been practicing law for over 30 years. Mr. O’Neill’s practice emphasizes business transactions, corporate/venture formations, mergers and acquisitions, private equity offerings, financing, equity compensation, corporate governance, nonprofit organizations, and commercial leasing.
His professional affiliations include membership in the American Bar Association Business and Taxation sections, the State Bar of California Business, International and Taxation sections, and the San Diego County Bar Association. He is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
John C. O’Neill received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1975. In 1979, he graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law, magna cum laude. Mr. O’Neill went on to obtain a masters of law in taxation, with honors, from the University of San Diego in 1989.
Mr. O’Neill is the immediate past chair of the Board of Directors and a current member of the Executive Committee of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, and is a member and past chair of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Downtown YMCA. He is legal counsel to a number of nonprofit organizations including the San Diego Humane Society and S.P.C.A. In 2010, Mr. O’Neill was appointed by the Mayor of San Diego to serve as a commissioner on the City of San Diego Ethics Commission. Mr. O’Neill also serves on the Board of Advisors of The Center for Wealth & Legacy.
Gary Evans

Gary Lewis Evans is former CEO of Bank of Internet USA (BofI Holding, Inc. NASDAQ: BOFI). Mr. Evans has established himself as an Internet banking Pioneer; founder of Bank of Internet USA, entrepreneur and co-author of the first book on Internet finance in 1996. In 2008, Mr. Evans was a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award for the founding and growth of Bank of Internet USA. Mr. Evans brings extensive financial and Internet commerce experience to eDisabilityQuotes. He has been actively involved in multiple startup companies and two successful IPO’s.
Mr. Evans has served on many non-profit boards including, the American Red Cross, San Diego Mid-Cities Development Corporation, San Diego Hospice, the Salvation Army and San Diego Neighborhood Housing Services.
Mr. Evans holds a BS in Business and MS in Finance from California State University Northridge (CSUN).
Craig Gussin
Board of Directors
Mr. Gussin serves as Director of eDisabilityQuotes and is recognized as the 2011-2012 President of the International Disability Insurance Society (IDIS). Mr. Gussin is a member of the San Diego, State of California for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, along with the National Association of Health Underwriters and The International Disability Insurance Society. , 2011-2012 President-Elect & VP of Legislation for the San Diego Association of Health Underwriters (SDAHU) and the 2011-2012 President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of San Diego (NAIFA).
Mr. Gussin attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he received his degree in Business Administration. Craig also holds an advanced degree, Charter Life Underwriter from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He also has certification in advanced business and estate planning.
Mr. Gussin has written articles, conducted seminars, been interviewed on TV, Radio and newsprint along with being a guest speaker for various interest groups addressing many aspects of Health, Life, Disability and Long Term Care Insurance.
